A Polish priest who is also a cosmetologist, won the prestigious Templeton Prize. I noticed the headline on Sancte Pater - Vincenzo has the story here.
It sure is a big award. I posted about this a couple of days ago.
The only one thing that bothered me about the Jesuit is the picture of him at a Templeton function. Instead of wearing his uniform, he wore a suit and tie. Why?? This award is directly tied to his vocational activities. I'm not saying that all clergy should be required to always wear there uniforms everywhere they go, but definitely to occasions that elucidate their vocational tradition. I hope I'm not being too picky over this.
Brother - yes - I did know the difference - and deliberately posted it this way. LOL!
Tom - I think it may still be a practice some older European priests, especially Jesuits, to wear secular suits. Cardinal Ratzinger did so a long time ago as well.
Not just because of his haircutting skills, but because he was kind enough & charitable enough to remain to care for his dead master's widow, after he was freed.
