I have labeled Pope Francis the Litmus Papacy. The way people react to the Holy Father says a lot more about who they are than who he is. Kind of like Our Lord, don't you think?
I am looking forward to this movie with regards to the Holy Father's life so as to learn more about him, get to know him better, and therefore understand him even more.
I think you're right. Two examples, articulated very well elsewhere, come to mind:
"Those who love Pope Francis, or who are committed to an agenda of excusing everything he does, want to close their eyes to the serious problems his papacy is posing. Those who think he's a modernist want to refuse all the nuances and complexities of the reality [that his Papacy presents]."
