Me and John Boehner ...

Song for this post here.

  1. I may not always toss Mr. Boehner a floral bouquet but he did make me smile today because of those tears of his streaming down his handsome face. When one is in the presence of someone who truly loves Jesus and lives with Jesus on a personal level, how can one not be moved?

I remember once just reading about the Lord and I cried the whole time I read the book. I felt renewed and reborn after I was all done. And that was just a book!

God bless Mr. Boehner and all who were moved by the Holy Spirit as a result of our Holy Father's witness.

  2. Boehner's tears could make the Mojave bloom!

    No -- the Atacama.

    1. Interesting ... do you suppose those tears pierced his heart and that in turn gave way to his being able to finally resign? He may have found peace at last in such a decision. Walking away from Congress surely must be liberating for some. ^^

Let those tears flow and be washed anew in the life of the Spirit!

    2. Yes! I just saw this on Mark Shea:

Boehner, who didn’t speak to reporters on Friday, also told the lawmakers that Pope Francis’ visit to Congress the day before was a crystallizing moment, according to the lawmaker. Boehner then read the prayer of St. Francis to the conference after announcing his decision.

  3. I read Father L's take on Boehner's tears and it was moving. I could agree more ...
